Core Architecture Enhancements

This chapter will cover many new core architecture enhancements in the Veeam Backup and Replication v12 software. You will learn about the new option of using a PostgreSQL server as your database instead of Microsoft SQL Server, which can be a replacement or even an upgrade to your current SQL server. We will also look at the new per-VM backup chain changes, which will make a backup administrator’s life easier from a management and troubleshooting perspective. Lastly, we will look at some new Linux features, such as an option for a hardened repository in the wizard and using Linux as a proxy, including CDP.
