Summary
In this chapter, we have discussed notetaking and how important it is to take quality notes. You learned that notetaking is the fundamental building block in creating your report. You understood the makeup of a digital forensic examination report and what information it should include. We also discussed that technical and non-technical readers may read your report and that you have to draft your report with that in mind. With that, you are able to take effective notes and prepare a clear and concise report.
In the next chapter, we will discuss the culmination of your investigation and report writing; that is, taking the stand as a witness.Â
