In this chapter, we learned about different Horizon Composer instant and linked clone maintenance operations. We discussed each of these maintenance tasks and went through some examples of how they are used.
We learned about updating the instant clone parent image, and looked at the linked clone refresh, recompose, and rebalance operations. We learned about what they are for and what to be aware of concerning their use. We then went through the operation of each. We also learned about persistent disk maintenance, including how to detach them from existing desktops, how to reattach them, and how to use them to recreate a new linked clone desktop.
In the next chapter, we will discuss how to create a virtual desktop master image, an important task that requires careful consideration and planning.
