Let's now dive into the macro view of the logical application for A2Z banking core functionality. The following logical and deployment diagrams show the main structural nodes, which participate in a business transaction flow. WebSphere Portal is the entry point for the enterprise. It uses Tivoli Access Manager to implement Single Sign-On (on a limited scope for phase one). Portal interfaces with DataPower as the main brain for the mediating and transforming data (based on established business rules) in a way that all the complexity behind it is encapsulated from portal. Portal knows which services or processes to invoke, but it is agnostic to what is behind the scenes. CICS and WebSphere on z/OS keep the transactional and persistence data backbone; while WPS and ESB collaborate on the SOA and business process management stack; ESB maintains the services, and MQ and Broker facilitate Pub/Sub and other asynchronous functionalities....
