Installing a Sametime Proxy Server
The next Sametime server to be installed is the Proxy Server. A Proxy Server is required if you want browser-based clients or a lightweight alternative to STLinks, otherwise a Proxy Server install is optional.
As with all other Sametime server components installed from the SSC, the Proxy Server install starts with the build of a Deployment Plan for Proxy Server which provides details for the later install. In our example, our Proxy Server hostname is proxy.lucyskydiamonds.com.
After entering the Deployment Name, click on Next.

The dialog box to select the version of the Proxy Server will be displayed. Click on Next to continue.

The Proxy Server is a WAS-based component so the installer needs to be told how to configure its WAS instance. Installing a server in its own cell gives it its own Deployment Manager and Management Interface outside of the SSC.
