Adjusting the transition's parameters in the Viewer, Inspector, and timeline


It's easy to tack on a transition, but many of them have multiple parameters that can only be tweaked in certain places such as the Inspector, on-screen controls in the Viewer, or even in the timeline itself.

Getting ready

Simply create a timeline with two clips in it that you can add a transition to.

How to do it...

  1. 1. Open your Transitions browser and make sure All is highlighted in the categories box.

  2. 2. In the search box below, type in black hole, as shown in the following screenshot:

  3. 3. Drag the black hole transition between the two clips in your timeline. If you get a message that says There is not enough extra media beyond clip edges to create the transition..., click on Create Transition, as shown in the following screenshot:

  4. 4. Play the area around the transition. This transition sucks in the first clip into a vortex and reveals the second clip underneath.

  5. 5. Click on the transition itself in the timeline...
