The MaxMind GeoIP service

The application covered in Chapter 10, Worldwide Marco Polo, determines the device's location using the embedded GPS. But for cases where the Geolocation service is not available, the application falls back on a function that relies on a service called MaxMind GeoIP. This service enables developers to identify the location, organization, connection speed, and user type based on the device's IP address.
