Summary
In this chapter, we learned how to consult the official SQL command reference for Databricks SQL. More importantly, we learned about some of the Databricks SQL-specific commands. We also learned more about Unity Catalog and the concept of Delta Sharing while learning about various data definition commands. After that, we learned how to implement real-life data engineering and BI engineering use cases while learning about data manipulation commands. Finally, we learned how to query semi-structured data and the power of Lambda functions.
In the next chapter, we will continue our investigation of Lakehouse-specific SQL commands – specifically, commands for administrating Lakehouse.
