Environment basics
Environments in Power Platform serve as a container for configurations, customization, and data. Here, you create, store, manage, and share the data and functionality of your business.
They can be used to separate apps, which have different security requirements or target audiences, as well as separate data in a secure way. This means that one can use a well-thought-through environment structure to make apps and related data more secure.
Each environment is created in a Microsoft Entra tenant and bound to a certain Power Platform region. No data or configuration will leave the selected region (with very few exceptions). All the apps, bots, flows, connections, gateways, and more are also created in the selected region.
