Once UMDS has been installed on a Linux machine, it needs to be configured to download patches. Once configured correctly, the UMDS service can be used to download the patches to its local repository, either manually or periodically using a cron job. The local repository can be used as a shared repository for Update Manager with the help of a web server component. Read the Configuring a web server on UMDS (Linux) for more information.
