Adopting a change management framework

Organizational change can be disorienting and cause negative disruption if not properly managed. Instead of using an unproven or ad-hoc process, leaders can turn to established change management frameworks to guide their organizations through the turbulence of change. Kotter’s 8-step process for leading change and the ADKAR change model are two of the most prominent and proven frameworks. They support planning, implementing, and sustaining change and are briefly discussed in the following subsections.
