Summary

Looking back at the topics covered in this chapter, we can see that text may not only be a feature of your models, but a model in and of itself. Tinkercad offers a wide range of tools to create and manipulate text features in our designs starting from the basic text shape.

But if you want to create text out of a standard box, you can work with individual characters or even choose from a range of shape generators instead. There is no one approach that works best in every circumstance. As a designer, it is important to identify what tools you have available so that you can choose the best approach when creating your models.

By applying previously learned concepts for designing through CSG, we can create truly unique models that rely on text for their functionality and performance. We will revisit text tools later in this book as we learn more tools and strategies for creating complex designs.
