Putting it all together
Web development is a journey. That is true on many levels. On the surface, we can say that developing a web application requires you to journey through a process of iterating on features and bug fixes. As we just saw, web development is a process that aims to balance the FRUD demands of functionality, reliability, and usability, and provide a delightful experience.
On a deeper level, web development is a journey through society. It is an ever-changing field that has progressed over the last few decades to keep pace with the world around us. In many ways, the pace at which the world advances is directly tied to the technologies we are building for the web.
But it is on the personal level that I find web development's journey to be most impactful. I began building websites in high school, at a completely amateur level.
