Decluttering Paperwork with Form Recognizer
When we strategize about opportunities for reducing wasted effort and time in businesses, we do not get very far before landing on the vaunted paper shuffle. Inefficient processes live and breathe within the paperwork shuffle at every organization around the world. Certainly, organizations work on ways to minimize these inefficiencies, but even when we think we've got them cleaned up and optimized, more inefficiencies pop up. I would not suggest that any department is better or worse than another, and countless workflow and approval systems have been developed over the years, but the challenge persists. This is certainly the case in the example of Ocean Smart, where, as with any organization, there are constant challenges with processing paperwork. With that in mind, in this chapter, we are going to use a couple of examples where we have come across some of the more common areas where these inefficiencies exist.
