Chapter 23. Application Conversion

In many organizations it is common to find a number of Microsoft Access applications. These applications are often created by users to capture simple information, but they end up growing into important business applications. Often, they are not backed-up, not designed well, and not secure, and duplicate data is stored in other systems. Organizations may also have many very large Oracle Forms applications that contain many screens. Often, these applications will need to be consolidated and converted into newer browser-based technologies to simplify the deployment, management, and maintenance of these legacy applications. Converting these applications can be a costly and time consuming process.
