Recording the narration

Now that both your computer system and Captivate are properly set up, it is time to concentrate on the actual recording of the voiceover narration:

  1. Still in the Chapter03/takeTheTrain.cptx file, use the Filmstrip to go to slide 2.
  2. Use the Audio | Record To | Slide menu item, to open the Slide audio dialog.

This is one of the many ways to start a slide audio recording. Another option is to click the Add Audio button in the Options tab of the Properties inspector when a slide is selected.

Make sure you use the Audio | Record To | Slide menu item with slide written with no s. If you click Slides (with an s), you'll end up in a very similar, but slightly different dialog.

The next step of the exercise is the actual recording of the sound clip. Before you press the record button, it is necessary to take some time to rehearse the narration. The following text is the script that you will record:
