Templates for meeting teacher certification standards
It is best if students become familiar with the standards for their particular certification and begin building their teaching portfolio at the beginning of their studies. This would allow them, among other things, to chronicle the building, implementation, and assessment of lesson plans. This would also make the final portfolio much richer. However, many students do not do this and many programs do not require and/or assess the portfolio until a final capstone course, or similar. This means that students have to write the reflections, which nearly all certification portfolios require, while they are building the final portfolio. With that in mind, the template we will be building in this recipe will provide instructors and students with a method for creating a final portfolio, with the idea that the students do not already have a journal in which they have been chronicling their process.
This recipe is for instructor use.
