Experiencing the portal

Liferay provides unique interface for the portal. It makes the portal unique by providing everything customizable. The Palm Tree Publications enterprise administrator, say "Palm Tree", will experience the portal locally. After starting up the portal by typing the http://localhost:8080 URL in a browser, you will able to see the Liferay Portal home page. Now, log in as "Palm Tree" Admin to see the portal page interface similar to the following screenshot. Generally speaking, a portal page is made up of a set of portlets—for example, Web Content Display, the navigation portlet, breadcrumb portlet, and the default pages.
