In this chapter, we introduced the Logix Emulate 5000 virtualized controller and learned how to configure our controller's virtual chassis and the required communications in the RSLinx application. We also learned how we can create a new project on the Logix Emulate 5000 platform. Finally, we learned the power of the 1789-SIM I/O cards and their use within the Logix Emulate 5000 controller.
In the next chapter, we will introduce multiple types of Rockwell Automation network communications technologies that are available and some of the tools that can streamline network planning.
