Summary
In this chapter, we have introduced the concept of Salesforce automation and how it can be delivered to implement your business processes.
We've seen how workflow rules are shaped and how to create them, using all the available actions in the automation library (including field updates, task creation, email alerting, and outbound messaging), defining immediate or time-based execution, to trigger actions with a time-based delay. With workflows, you now have the power to create automations based on a user's interaction with the CRM, easing their daily workload and handling more complex or hard to remember tasks on their behalf.
In the next chapter, we'll deal with approval processes, which we will use to handle record approvals across your users.
