Using the baseline and document grids
Aligning items accurately is a useful thing to be able to do when laying out documents. It not only makes your documents look more professional but it allows you to ensure a degree of consistency across your documents, which, in turn, reinforces your brand identity.
The document grid and baseline grids can be useful tools in doing this and, in this recipe, we will look at how to enable these grids, customize them to your specific requirements, and align content to the grids.
In terms of the baseline grid, this is a bit like the lines on traditional lined writing paper and is a useful tool for ensuring consistency with your vertical text spacing throughout the document. The document grid, on the other hand, is more useful for aligning objects consistently, such as frames.
