Detailed capabilities of the transformation zones
The transformation zones are comprised of various instances of conceptual bronze, silver, and gold zones defined in the conceptual architecture. Capabilities will continue to be mapped to features in this chapter of the book. Data quality features, data lake and data warehouse access, and silver data and gold data standards will be discussed because the total output of the transformation zone will be the consumable data distribution sets used in the downstream consumption zones.
Before data can propagate downstream, it needs to be normalized and transformed. The illusion that you can take plain old raw data, retain it, and then process it in place without this transformative step is naïve at best.
