Years ago, in one of the videos of the well-known author Kevin Wallace, I heard an interesting statement about routing, that states: "Educates routers about the best path to reach different networks." Pay attention to the word educates, because you will need it later on in this chapter (and the chapters to follow), now that we are beginning our discussion on routing and routers.
So far, we have discussed both switching and switches. We learned that switching (in computer networks) is the change of direction of frames, and we also learned that switches are devices that work on the method of packet switching.
