Summary
This chapter described basic network principles and compared traditional networking approaches with the new SDN approach. Also, it touched NSX basics as well as descriptions how NSX works and what network virtualization can deliver to a SDDC. Furthermore, it touched the basic installation and configuration to get quickly up and running with the first virtual network including routing and access to the external physical network through a DLR and ESG.
In the next chapter, the focus will be on DevOps and its possibilities and opportunities. It will start with a definition what DevOps typically means and what use cases will be fulfilled by a DevOps platform. Also, it will discuss possible installations fitting in the SDDC and possibilities for developers and companies using this new approach in developing and running applications.
