In this chapter, we covered the different mechanisms that different AWS storage and database services use to protect your data, such as EBS, EFS, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB. Most of them use KMS in some way via the CMK, which we discussed in the previous chapter. This integration of KMS makes it easy for other AWS services to implement their own server-side encryption options.Â
If you have your own AWS account, take a look at each of these services and the encryption option available to you to reiterate what we covered within this chapter. This will help you maintain a solid understanding of encryption across services, especially those that integrate with KMS.
