Time for action — downloading and installing MySQL connector/J 5.1
You can download the Connector/J 5.1 JDBC driver from MySQL Developer Zone. Just follow the simple steps:
Open Mozilla Firefox and go to http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/ connector/j/5.1.html. Scroll down the page until you locate the Source and Binaries (tar.gz) Pick a mirror link:
Click on this link to go to the Select a Mirror web page. Scroll down the page until you locate the No thanks, just take me to the downloads! link, and click on it:
Scroll down the next web page until you find a mirror near your location, and click on the HTTP link (the following screenshot shows mirrors in the United States):
Click on the Save File button in the Opening mysql-connector-java-5.1.7.tar.gz dialog box, press the OK button and wait for the file to download through the Mozilla Firefox Download Manager. Right-click on the downloaded file and select Open containing folder from the pop-up menu when the download process is complete:
