Summary
In this chapter, you learned and practiced how to set up a variety of wired and wireless networking devices using key ns-3 building blocks. As part of this chapter, you also learned how to set up wired and/or wireless network topologies systematically using various ns-3-supported communication channels, such as CSMA, P2P, and Wi-Fi. This will help you to easily set up any complex wired or wireless network topologies. In addition, to evaluate network performance thoroughly and quickly, you were introduced to real-time network applications, such as ping, HTTP, and constant or variable data rate traffic generators.
Finally, to make you comfortable with setting up wired and wireless network topologies, relevant hands-on tasks were discussed, broken down into step-by-step procedures. These hands-on activities especially focused on how to deploy and test wired and Wi-Fi LAN link connectivity among all nodes, and link speed.
