Importing vector graphics

In this section, we will place a series of vector elements into our design. This includes a logo and three social media icons. Follow the steps below to get started:

  1. Choose the Selection tool Graphical user interface, application  Description automatically generated. Select File | Place. Navigate to the Chapter 3 - Designing Social Media Posts Example Files folder for Chapter 3. Select the file named 03 RTC Logo.ai. InDesign will load the file into its place gun. Click and drag in the space below the text group we created.
  2. Let’s sort out the alignment and size for the logo object.
  3. Enable the Constrain proportions for the width and height chain-link switch Graphical user interface, application  Description automatically generated under Transform on the Properties panel. Set the height to 200 px.
  4. Click the first icon Graphical user interface, application  Description automatically generated under Frame Fitting (Fill Frame Proportionally). This will ensure a perfect fit for the logo within its frame.
  5. From the Align controls, ensure that Align to Page Graphical user interface, application  Description automatically generated is enabled by clicking on the very first icon and choosing that option. Then, click Align horizontal...
