Enabling power management on a per-host level
Power management can be modified on a per-host level. The settings at the host level will override the cluster-level DPM settings.
Power management is set at the host level by modifying the DPM's automation level on each host.
How to do it…
The following procedure will help you set the DPM automation level on a host:
From the vCenter's inventory home, navigate to the Hosts and Clusters view.
Select the cluster and navigate to Manage | Settings | Host Options.
Select a host and click on Edit to bring-up the Edit Host Options window.
In the Edit Host Options window, change the DPM power mode to the desired automation level and click on OK. Ignore the BMC fields as they are not required for setting host level DPM automation.
The Host Options page should now show the configured Power Management for the host.
