Transcription of Data

Now that we’ve discussed the two ways in which data can be transformed, let’s dive into the basics of the work that must be done to get from a spreadsheet to corporate data. There are actually many steps in this process. But the most basic concepts are the transcription and interpretation of the data.

Transcription of data is the easy part. A cell has a value. The cell is identified and the value is lifted. It is a mechanical process. The more challenging thing about reading and interpreting a spreadsheet is taking into account the context of the data.
