Using If/Else logic and substitution variables in outline formulas
In this recipe, we are going to be setting up substitution variables for the outline formulas. We will then set up an outline to not only use If/Else logic, but also allow the user to conduct the "what if" analysis on a forecast scenario. We will use the Adjust Data menu in Smart View to increase the selected cell values by three percent and submit this data into Essbase. In addition, we will run a calculation from Smart View and validate the results of the If/Else logic.
Getting ready
To get started, click on your Start menu and navigate to Programs | Oracle EPM System | Essbase | Essbase Administration Services | Start Administration Services Console. In the Log in menu, enter your Administration Server, Username, Password, and click on the Log in button.
