There are a few ways that you can notify the user of something happening in the system. You can pop up a message to the user and force them to acknowledge it by clicking on it, but this can be very intrusive in the event that you just want to let the user know about something but don't necessarily require them to do anything about it.
Luckily, there is a much less intrusive way to do this: using notifications. This method allows us to provide an onscreen message with some available actions, but the user is not forced to click on it. Think of these as a hey, by the way, did you know... type of message to the user. This recipe will show you how to add a notification to Customer Card to let the user know that there are no television shows set up for the customer.
