Queries

Now that we have some data indexed, it is time to get it back and that's where queries fit in. Queries can be as simple as a single word and might be complex by including various Boolean operations. Let's expand our understanding gradually.

Simple queries

The simplest form of a query is a single term like this:

q = "gym"

Now there's a simple algorithm at work. First of all, because no field name is mentioned here and it is just a string so this word gym would be searched in all the document fields. All the document fields, you say? What's the point of searching this gym in a number field or a date field for that matter because they won't contain such content, you might ask. You're right. Basically, there are few simple rules for this as follows:

1. If the search term looks like string, first TextField, HTMLField are searched and lastly AtomField is looked up. In case of HTML and Text fields, the string might appear anywhere in them but in case of AtomField, the whole search string must be...
