Plotting scatter plots
This recipe demonstrates how to use GRAL to draw scatter plots for 100,000 random data points. Scatter plots use both the x and y axes to plot data points and are a good means to demonstrate the correlation between variables.
Getting ready
To use GRAL for plotting bar charts, we need the example applications provided with the library in the form of Jar files. These example applications can be downloaded from http://trac.erichseifert.de/gral/wiki/Download. Download the
gral-examples-0.10.zip
file from the download location into your local disk. Extract the files.Once you've downloaded the ZIP files and extracted them, you will see a directory structure as shown in the Getting ready section of the Plotting a 2D sine graph recipe. Our folder of interest is the
lib
folder.Inside
lib
, you will find three Jar files:gral-core-0.10
,gral-examples-0.10
, andVectorGraphics2D-0.9.1
. In this recipe, you will be using the first two of the aforementioned Jar files.Include these two...
