Summary
In this chapter, we explored the available options for building a formula and applying the concepts of diverse formula examples, closing with a detailed example of how to build a custom formula field. We learned the basic syntax of formulas, with operators and literals, and then we described the principal functions that the formula framework delivers, such as date/time functions, logical functions, math functions, and text functions, including concepts about cross-object formulas.
In the next chapter, we'll apply these formula concepts to validation rules to keep up with our organization's data quality.
