Introducing cloud hosting models and the shared responsibility model
When an organization hosts its infrastructure, they are responsible for all of the different components that come together to deliver the services required by its business. They procure and string together hardware components such as servers and networking equipment, and they implement the virtualization layer for their infrastructure. They also select and manage which operating systems will be leveraged for their applications, manage the runtime environment, manage the scaling of the infrastructure as load increases, launch and manage the application, and finally upload and manage the associated data.
As you can imagine, this is a lot for technology teams to oversee.
