Importing 3D Assets in Godot 4

In this chapter, we will start by connecting the Blender and FBX2glTF paths to Godot 4 in Editor Settings. We will then import blend files into Godot 4 and see how the models change in Godot when they're updated in Blender. Because Godot does not have FBX support, we will import a FBX2glTF.exe file, which we are going to download from GitHub.

This file is going to change the FBX file into a glTF file so that we can use FBX files. We will also import a glTF file into Godot. Finally, we will use the Import dialog to extract a .tres file from a texture and add that texture to the copy of the glTF file we downloaded previously.
