Summary
In this chapter, we have covered the process of deployment that sends the script generated by SQL Server Data tools to Analysis Services. We have also covered the processing of objects, the step where data is moved from the source and stored for querying in Analysis Services. It also shows how the process could be scheduled and tuned. One way of tuning is partitioning that was covered, another one is through using storage options such as ROLAP and proactive caching.
In the next chapter, we will look at how a cube can be queried using different tools and on the language used for querying called Multidimensional Expressions (MDX).
