Now that we are clear on the semantics and the domain decomposition of our business model, we can take a step forward in the design (though technical questions will only be introduced in the next chapter) and start envisioning how these entities are going to be introduced to the IT system. Until now, everything we said could be applied to a non-software-based information system. Starting from this section, we will admit the reality of there not being any such information systems in design anymore and that every company is now a software company. Since we are talking about entities, and their pivotal format is considered as designed, the next step is to talk about the way they will be manipulated—and thus stored—by the information system.
