Technical requirements

What you need depends on what problems you’re diagnosing and fixing. But across this chapter, we’ll be looking at iMovie for iOS/iPadOS, as well as iMovie for macOS. The latest versions of these apps are recommended. For some of the issues, we’ll be using Handbrake to sort out the problem, so you’ll need a Mac for that, with at least version 1.4. Instructions on installing Handbrake can be found in the Technical requirements section of Chapter 8. For solving the most persistent of export errors, we’ll be downloading a sound capture device: Blackhole 2ch. This is available at https://github.com/ExistentialAudio/BlackHole. It has one purpose, so the version number does not matter much – but for reference, I used version 0.4.0 to test out the fix in this chapter.
