Creating a custom application with Web AppBuilder
You have just created your first GIS web application using one of Esri's customizable templates. While these are great and do result in some powerful apps, you may not find a template that does exactly what you need. This is where your other option for creating web apps comes in, Web AppBuilder.
Web AppBuilder allows you to create your own custom web app and to pick the tools you want to include. These tools are referred to as widgets. Web AppBuilder includes many base widgets which you can customize to suit your specific needs. This allows you much more flexibility when creating your own GIS web applications. If you do have programming skills, you can even create your own widgets which you can plug into Web AppBuilder for even more functionality and flexibility.
