Spatial ETL
In the previous recipes, you used the traditional data translation between two data types and formats. The ArcGIS Data Interoperability uses the FME functionality to extend the formats you can read, transform, and translate.
The transformation process allows you to manipulate the structure and content of your data. The transformation process occurs during the format translation process. Translation refers to the process of converting a data format into another data format using:
- Workspace: This is a container that stores the translation definition
- Reader and writer: These are the source and destination datasets
- Feature type: This is a feature class, layer, or object class
- Feature: This is the base component of the translation
You have three tools to translate and transform interoperability data:
- Quick Import: This imports any FME-supported format into a new geodatabase
- Quick Export: This exports any feature class and interoperability data to any FME-supported format
- Spatial ETL Tool...
