Preparing for training

To deliver effective training, we need to prepare all that goes into delivering the training. It takes many days and a good number of resources to prepare for the training. Let’s look at some of them:

• A stable test environment for training with valid data. The system should have the latest configuration and any external apps connected to the system need to be checked off as functional (note: it may not be possible to enable all apps and interfaces working with the test environment).
• UAT should be close to complete with no critical issues. It’s better if it can be done after UAT completion, but usually, projects cannot wait that long.
• Based on the grouping of users, some user groups may need more thorough training where they should be able to get hands-on.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and leaders to encourage their teams to attend and take training sessions seriously – even better if they are mandated.
