Managing and Monitoring Log Shipping
In this section, we'll learn to do the following:
Add or remove a secondary instance to/from an existing log shipping configuration.
Add or remove a database to/from an existing log shipping configuration.
Monitor log shipping.
Change the database restoring state at the secondary.
Perform failover from the primary instance to the secondary instance.
Exercise 62: Adding a New Secondary Instance to an Existing Log Shipping Configuration
To add a new secondary instance, follow these steps:
Connect Object Explorer to the DPLPR instance. Expand the Databases node, right-click on the Sales database, and select Properties. In the Database Properties - Sales window, under Select a page, select the Transaction Log Shipping page.
