Manipulating a Mesh Using Geometry Nodes
In the previous chapter, we showed you how to edit and manipulate Curves in the Geometry Node editor. This will benefit your workflow when you want to align or modify a mesh using a Curve. To take you further, in this chapter, we will teach you how to manipulate a mesh using the Geometry Node editor. This will help you create all sorts of shapes, from landscapes to tree trunks. To aid you in achieving that goal (of manipulating meshes), we will cover how to extrude meshes, how to use Booleans, and how to add noise to your meshes, and at the end of the chapter, we’ll combine these skills into an exercise.
In this chapter, we will cover the following subjects:
- Extruding your mesh
- Using Booleans on your mesh
- Adding noise to your mesh
- Exercise – make a procedural tree
First, let’s see how to extrude a mesh.
