The SQL Developer DBA Navigator GUI interface for RMAN and Data Pump is a very flexible option available for performing backup and recovery operations, and incredibly many DBAs do not have idea that it exists. In this section, we will take a closer look at some of the options available with this tool.
RMAN operations
The DBA Navigator allows us to have the following RMAN options available:
Backup Jobs: We can view backup jobs that have been previously executed. It also permits us to create and run a new backup job from here; for example, using the right-click you can execute the following actions: Backup operations such as tablespaces backup, datafiles backup, archivelog backup, and recovery files backup, Restore/Recovery operations such as recover a whole database, restore a whole database, recover a tablespace, restore a tablespace, recover datafiles, restore datafiles, block recovery, restore archived logs, and Flashback database, create disk backups, create tape backups...
