Gaining Insights through Moodle Reporting and Analytics
Moodle collects usage data from various activities from when users log in until they log out. This data can be utilized for a range of reporting and analytics activities, all of which will be dealt with in this chapter.

There are two types of reports in Moodle: custom reports created with the report generator and log-based reports, hardcoded in Moodle.
The first part of this chapter will provide an overview of the report generator and cover data sources, report building, report audiences, and schedules. We will also briefly cover a more technical third-party report generator: Configurable reports.
