Summary

In this chapter, we took a look at the data governance topics you'll find on the MS-101 exam, including the following:

  • Plan and configure information retention
  • Plan for Microsoft 365 backup
  • Plan for restoring deleted content

First, we configured a retention policy and learned that it can apply to specific apps and services at a granular level. We know that we can create blanket policies (the same for many apps) or specifically targeted policies, such as actions to take for a Teams channel.
