Troubleshooting compliance settings


Troubleshooting compliance settings is largely a logfile review exercise. Because the evaluation of compliance settings is a client activity, the logs for compliance settings processing are on the client site in the client logs folder, which is located in the %SystemRoot%\CCM\Logs folder. There are five log files used for compliance settings to store activity. They are:

  • Ciagent.log: This file provides information about downloading, storing, and accessing assigned configuration baselines

  • CITaskManager.log: This file records information about the configuration item's task scheduling

  • Dcmagent.log: This file provides high-level information about the evaluation of the assigned configuration baselines plus information regarding compliance settings processes

  • DCMReporting.log: This file records information about the reporting policy platform results in state messages for the configuration items

  • DcmWmiProvider.log: This file records information about reading a...
