The high number of 19 available APIs sounds scary, but the number is also a bit of an overstatement. They are all interconnected to some degree and can be considered subcategories of APIs. As a matter of fact, 10 of them are summarized under the so-called Capability API, which forms one of the core Qlik API libraries.
The following are the core Qlik APIs:
- Engine API
- Extension API
- Backend API
- Capability API (includes 10 subcategories of APIs)
Based on Qlik's API reference guide (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/September2017/Content/APIs-and-SDKs.htm), the following table shows the full list of available Qlik APIs. The following icons indicate roughly what they are used for and how they can be used to build:

- : Mashups
- : Extensions
